OUR PROJECT FOR 2022-2025 : MOTHER/ARTIST



WHY?



The pandemic event combined with the proximal war crisis created a special situation in the art world. The main events in which artists were generally promoted and especially rewarded for their work by the purchase of their works of art, solo or group exhibitions, or art fairs, were for a long time non-existent or irrelevant. Especially for emerging artists who need exposure and promotion, the Romanian art market has been slow. This phenomenon in correlation with caring for a recently born child were and are difficult circumstances for young mothers artists. JUXTA would like to join their remarkable and emotional effort.



WHAT WE WILL SET INTO MOTION:



MOTHER/ARTIST Monthly Grant - MA1


We intend to award a monthly grant to Romanian female artist selected on the basis of the relevance of the creation in the field of fine arts, respectively the painting category, graduate of UNARTE Bucharest and caring for at least one child under seven years. This grant is planned for RON 1000 per month and aims to supplement the low income resulting from the cessation or limitation of artistic activity in the period after the birth of a child. To the extent that the funds will exceed the allocation for an artist, the difference will be allocated to the project of establishing a museum dedicated to contemporary female art. MOTHER / ARTIST Competition - MA2


Organizing an invitation based contest of works of art - painting - with the theme "ROUGE", addressed to graduates and master students of art universities in Bucharest and in the country, whose winner will be rewarded with the purchase of participation and organization and funding an opening in collaboration with one of the galleries approved by JUXTA. By invitation only.


MOTHER / ARTIST Acquisitions - MA3


Acquisition of works of art based on the relevance and values ​​of JUXTA, from artists who care for at least one child under seven years of age. These works together with the winning work of the painting competition will be gathered in an exhibition at the end of 2025. Apply at LOBBY@JUXTA.RO

OTILIA CADAR - ”The One Who Carries The Nest”



Winner of the 2022 Art Contest organized by the Juxta Foundation on the theme of ”MATERNITY”



IOANA ARON - ”Me & Leonor Fini”



Ioana is an amazin and dedicated artist, grantee of the Juxta Foundation and with an enthusiasm that borders militantism with regard to women condition in the art world.



MIHAI RAUTA - ”STELLA”



This bold and intriguing artist came to our attention with the help of Oana Visoiu from Renaissance art gallery. We shall follow his evolution and collect the tormented and spectacular characters with almost religious presence.



AMALIA DULHAN - ”BROKEN ANGEL”



Attractive and disturbing, like a very good champagne, the works of this artist always pull us closer, to inspect the finest gestures of the brush strokes. We couldn't stop collecting her pieces of spiritual jewelry.



COSMIN MITU



Graphic artist with a taste for colourful accents, always a master of realistic drawing. The mesmerizing oversized drawings of animals and crystals will challenge our imagination for years to come, and decorate our walls with great modernity and, why not, chic.

MIREL VIERU - ”Drifting Star”



In collaboration with Renaissance Art Gallery Romania, we promote the work of this artist in Cluj, that came to our attention some years ago. Arch. Iulia Toader did the curating for his first exhibition in Bucharest as voluntary work, from pure appreciation of the fresh imagery she found compelling and deeply atoning.



CORNEL LAZIA - ”SoulSquared”



Knowing the world renowned photographer Cornel Lazia fron his early years, we collected his works and worked together with Art Yourself Gallery in order to introduce his works to financially potent clients .



OTILIA CADAR - ”HATIYE”



This beautiful artist came to our attention from ten years ago. We followed her evolution and collected the elegant, ethereal and intriguing characters with almost cinematographic presence.
